Reimagining the Future
Date and time: 8. Juni
Location: Unicorn Konferenzraum
Kind of event: Vortrag auf Englisch
Description: In this talk, Rob will argue that universities could do so much more to be at the forefront of the climate and ecological crisis. He will argue that our key goal at the current moment should be the cultivation of longing for a lower carbon future, and that means harnessing the powers of storytelling, art, design, beauty, music and culture. He will share inspiring stories from around the world of imagination-led change. And he may even bring the Time Machine he built during lockdown, and invite us to join him in it!
Presenter: Rob Hopkins is the co-founder of Transition Network and of Transition Town Totnes, and author of several books including 'The Transition Handbook' and most recently, 'From What Is to What If: unleashing the power of imagination to create the future we want'. He is an Ashoka Fellow, has spoken at TED Global and at several TEDx events, and appeared in the French film phenomenon 'Demain'. He holds a PhD from the University of Plymouth, and is a Director of Totnes Community Development Society and of New Lion Brewery. He also hosts the podcast 'From What If to What Next'.
